At The Factory, we believe that school signage can be more than just functional – it can be inspiring, educational, and a true reflection of the community it represents. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with Leeming Senior High School on a unique sign project: designing, manufacturing, and installing a stunning Indigenous Australian Six Seasons interpretive signage, featuring incredible student artwork.
Honouring Indigenous Knowledge Through 6 Seasons Panel Signage
The Six Seasons hold deep significance in Indigenous Australian culture, offering a nuanced understanding of the land and its rhythms. Leeming Senior High School sought to create a centrepiece that would not only honour this knowledge but also showcase the creative talents of their students. The result? A beautiful, custom-made School Artwork Signage panel that now takes pride of place on campus.
Student Artwork Signs: A True Collaboration
This project was a true collaboration. Students from Leeming Senior High School created original artworks for each of the six seasons. These vibrant pieces were then expertly integrated into the design of the sign, ensuring that the finished product would serve as both an educational tool and a showcase of student creativity.
Design Process: Movement and Meaning
Our design team worked closely with the school to develop a graphic with a soft blue tone background, chosen for its calming effect and subtle nod to the natural elements. To honour the theme of Indigenous movement, we incorporated flowing lines and a sense of motion throughout the graphic, symbolising change, growth, and connection.
Durable and Beautiful: Printed to Last
For the six seasons signage, we used advanced digital UV printing techniques to bring the artwork to life in vivid detail. To ensure longevity and protect against Perth’s harsh weather, reticulation, and fading, the interpretive signage was finished with an anti-graffiti laminate. The panel was then mounted onto a custom-built aluminium frame, elegantly raised from the ground to create a striking centrepiece that draws attention and invites curiosity.

Now installed at Leeming Senior High School, our six seasons panel signage stands as a testament to the talent of the students and the power of cultural education. It’s more than just school signage – it’s a celebration of heritage, creativity, and community.
